Summer Giveaway Series: Veganomicon!

We will now take a break from your normally scheduled VVC 2013 updating and food porn-ing to bring you the first in what will be a kickass Summer Giveaway Series:

Veganomicon by cookbook authors extraordinaire: Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero! Well known as a classic staple in vegan kitchens everywhere, this cookbook is home to recipes such as the ubiquitous Chickpea Cutlets, Spicy Tempeh Nori Rolls, and scrumptious Fudgy Wudgy Blueberry Brownies.
My bookshelf already contains a smudged and splattered copy of the tome, yet I was recently gifted a spankin’ new copy. Not being one to be stingy (except, perhaps, with some of the bomb-tastic PDX grub I savored last week), I decided to host a giveaway for the bloggers/readers whose bookshelves have not yet been graced with this classic.
How to enter:
  • Leave a comment on this post naming your favorite, ultimate cookbook recipe.
  • Post a link to the giveaway on your blog and leave another comment stating you have done so, along with the link to your post.
  • Like Vegan Noms on Facebook and leave another comment stating you have done so.
  • Post a link to the giveaway on Twitter and/or Facebook and leave another comment stating you have done so.
Four chances to enter! The giveaway will run until 9pm EST, Wednesday, June 5th and is open to US residents only (sorry!). Be sure to provide an e-mail address so you can be reached when you win!
Best of luck!

  1. My fave cookbook would have to be Happy Herbivore. All the recipes are so simple and delicious. I love the portobello tacos.

  2. The tempeh and white bean sausage patties from VWaV are always good; she also has a sausage crumble using tempeh that is so good–I may have to make it tonight! Thank you for this giveaway.

  3. I don't know why but I have never gotten Veganomicon yet though it's been on my Amazon wishlist for ages. These days, I'm addicted to the “damn good cookies” from the new My Beef With Meat. So easy, and so good… especially nice in these warmer days when you don't want to bake. Yummy and healthy—just almonds, walnuts, vanilla, dates, and vegan chocolate chips!

  4. I haven't had a chance to do much cooking as of late but when I was I was loving the soups from Vegan Soups and Hearty Stews for All Seasons. I can't wait to be able to start cooking again and break open some of the other vegan cookbooks I've acquired recently. I don't have this one yet though and it's on my Amazon wishlist!

  5. Another favorite cook book is Yellow Rose Recipes. It was specifically sold at Herbivore. We make the Pad Thai from this book. It is so beyond simple and still gives enough of an authentic Thai flavor. 🙂 We made this recipe tonight, so that is what made me think to share. 🙂
