The Vegg is a product that has been on the market for some time now, yet can only really be found online or in specialty stores. I picked up a packet at Food Fight! during VVC 2013 in Portland earlier this year. The website has some recipes, yet I could think of no better way to utilize the stuff than to make french toast.
Following (and halving) the recipe on the package, a nice and cinnamon-y batter ready to engulf slices of spelt bread. This was really a yummy treat. Only having made vegan french toast on one other occasion, I had almost forgotten its unique flavor. There was only a hint of eggy-ness – perfect for a sweet and syrupy breakfast. My only complaint is that each batch took a long time to cook and get near-crispy, but I suppose this is an issue for most french toast.
